A consultation is possibly the most important step to personal training, it's the stage we can work out your goals, when you want to achieve them and how we are going to achieve them. Not only this, but it lets us get to know each other, and if we will work well as a team together. People forget they'll be spending hours of their life with their PT so getting on and understanding each other is vital to success!
I'm a fully qualified nutritionist and I LOVE food, so you're in good hands. I'll never put you on a fad diet and I won't promise you'll lose 12 stone in 3 weeks. But I will promise you that you'll be eating the right foods for your goals, and guess what? they'll even taste good. Like, real good. I'm a strong believer in a healthy lifestyle change rather than a 'diet' with flexibility instead of constant rabbit food. You want that pizza? I'll fit it into your diet occasionally.
Core and lower back training are very important, depending on your goals I'll always make sure you incorporate these each week. Keeping a strong core is important to prevent injury, improve posture and who doesn't want washboard abs this summer??
Love or hate cardio, it's super important for our cardiovascular (CV) systems and anybody interested in fitness and health NEEDS to incorporate it into their routine. Now, if you're like me and running on a treadmill for an hour straight at a constant speed bores you just thinking about it, don't worry I mix my methods of CV training. I keep it fun, energetic and overall much more effective for your goals!
Resistance training, why do I have such a love for lifting heavy things and putting them back down? Because it's super effective, no matter what your goal is. (and no, it won't turn you into Arnie - unless you want it to, of course!) There are many forms of weight training and depending on the method will ultimately control the results. It's also a great stress relief and very rewarding mentally.
Did you know - muscle burns more calories? So the more you gain, the more calories your body burns, even when sitting down!
